This site is under construction. I would more than welcome any constructive criticism or feedback, pointing-out of mistakes etc. Please email me on Brian Daugherty.
I already have a a Key Skills in Mathematics site, which is more basic site than GCSE on the whole - but there is considerable overlap between the two syllabuses. Please visit the Key Skills site also even if you are only interested in GCSE because where there is overlap, I have not duplicated the topic on this particular GCSE site.
GCSE Overview, series of short videos covering the topics in brief
GCSE is the exam sat by 16 year old students in British schools, after which they can leave school if they wish. They who stay on normally take another two years to study for GCE A-Levels which are the usual requirement for University entry. Both GCSE and GCE exams can also be taken by adults.
Maths Quiz

I was at the mathematical school, where the master taught his pupils after a method scarce imaginable to us in Europe. The proposition and demonstration were fairly written on a thin wafer, with ink composed of a cephalick tincture. This the student was to swallow upon a fasting stomach, and for three days following eat nothing but bread and water. As the water digested, the tincture mounted to his brain, bearing the proposition along with it. But the success hath not hitherto been answerable, partly by some error in the quantum or composition, and partly by the perverseness of lads; to whom this bolus is so nauseous, that they generally steal aside, and discharge it upwards before it can operate; neither have they been yet persuaded to use so long an abstinence as the prescription requires. - Gulliver's Travels
