Atar (Atelier Technique Aéronautique Rickenbach)

CD Hermann Oestrich of BMW escaped in May 1945, and set up his own company in Switzerland.

In December 1945, they received a French Government contract and moved to Nièvre.

The first Atar was based on BMW technology.

In early 1953, a dassault Mirage IIC, powered by Atar 101C of 2750 kg thrust. In 1957, the 101G was the first European turbojet to exceed Mach 2 in a prototype Mirage III.
